"The most significant message I can convey to the rowing athlete
is:  Just row the race. Think about the process. Don't dwell on the result until it's history."
-Larry Gluckman, Varsity Heavyweight Coach, Princeton University

The 73rd Annual Scholastic National Championship Regatta
Friday, May 25 and Saturday, May 26, 2007

Congratulations to the Men's Lightweight 4+ and Women's Varsity 8+ crews for their participation in the National Scholastics regatta this past weekend in New Jersey.  The team and their parents left Chicago on Thursday morning, and enjoyed days at the site racing in Camden, New Jersey and evenings in downtown Philadelphia at some great restaurants -- especially the Redding Terminal Market -- and just hanging out and enjoying the downtime together.

The boys dominated their heat Friday morning finishing 1st with open water, came in 2nd in the semi-final and barely missed a medal with a 4th place finish in the Grand Final.

Our Girls Varsity 8+ had an amazing sprint in the Friday afternoon repechage, earning them the 3rd fastest overall time in the rep, and landing them in the semi-final Saturday morning.  They finished off their racing in the 3rd level final on Saturday afternoon in the blazing 97 degree sun, earning a 15th place finish overall.
